The Asian Development Bank is developing ADB Ventures as a new facility to support early-stage companies with tech-driven business models and solutions for impact in Asia and the Pacific. It will scale these solutions to meet regional sustainable development goals including climate change, inclusive finance, health, and gender.
There are two market gaps
for technology solutions being filled by ADB Ventures:
The availability of patient capital for early-stage companies
Mechanisms to de-risk investments in such companies
The ADB Ventures facility has two components:
Investment Fund I:
Seed to Series A equity and quasi-equity investments of $100k to $4 million, co-invested with the private sector.
ADB Ventures Technical
Source potential investments, pilot solutions, and support local innovation ecosystems.
ADB Ventures is currently in project preparation phase and engaged with strategic partners to design and prepare the ADB Ventures program. We are seeking interested co-financiers and donors, and welcome the opportunity to discuss the project further.
